David Beckham arrived in Sydney for a match with his team LA Galaxy against Sydney FC. My manager kindly offered me 2 seats at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium so I got to see Sydney FC beat LA Galaxy 5-3. Sydney outclassed the US visitors in a game that was great to watch.
Lots of goals were scored and the sell-out crowd of 80,000 people got to see what they came for: Beckham bending it like himself, curling home a free kick from 25 meters.
The following day Foxtel created a red carpet event at Cafe Sydney in Circular Quay for David Beckham and his team mates. I was there as well for a few photos of David as well as the other guests, the legendary Eric Idle and reality TV star Tila Tequila.
