As much as this website is about fast cars and celebrities on the red carpet, who would’ve thought that there would come a day that those two topics, seemingly quite far apart, would come together.

It would be stupid not to highlight this car, so this article is possibly the article that celsydney.com is all about!

The worlds of red carpets and exclusive cars finally came together yesterday when a one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé was driven onto the red carpet for the World Premiere of Johnny English Reborn, by none other than Rowan Atkinson himself!

Lead by a marching band, Mr Bean drove this stunning blue Rolls onto the red carpet with his gorgeous wife Sunetra Sastry in the passengers seat.

Of all the top-end exclusive cars available, I have to say the Rolls-Royce is the best choice to make a spectacular entrance at an event like this, with the suicide-doors giving plenty of room to gracefully get out of the car and onto the red carpet.

This Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé is not just a standard one, it’s a one-of-a-kind model, fitted with a 9.0 liter V16, as Rowan enthusiastically explained during his guest appearance on Top Gear earlier this year.

When Rolls-Royce designed the Phantom, they originally had the 9 liter V16 in mind for it. Unfortunately that idea got canned but they still had three or four of those engines lying around. Rowan asked Rolls-Royce if he could use one of them for Johnny English Reborn and the engineers at Rolls obliged, making this Phantom Coupé truly a one-of-a-kind car.

Rowan Atkinson, a big car nut himself, made headlines all over the world recently for crashing his McLaren F1 for the second time. I’m not sure if he has any plans of owning this Rolls or if it will go back to Rolls-Royce.

Rowan said at the World Premiere that the V16 engine is “”tremendously powerful”.

“Tremendously torque-y, as we say in the car world,” he said. “And any engine that big is always going to be fun and it plays a very pivotal role in the film … At one point it comes to the rescue of Johnny English in a very important way.”

Other stars walking the red carpet yesterday were X-Files star Gillian Anderson and former Bond-girl Rosamund Pike.

Here’s the Rolls-Royce that flew over to Sydney for the World Premiere and below that you can watch Rowan Atkinson talking about this car on Top Gear:
