Koenigsegg CCXR The Special One
Koenigsegg CCXR The Special One
Another highlight of my European trip last July has to be the turquoise Koenigsegg CCXR. This car belongs to a member of the Al-Thani royal family of Qatar.
The unusual colour of the car was the choice of Prince Abdul Rehman Naseer Abdulla al-Thani, a huge car enthusiast as his collection of Turquoise cars will tell. Other cars in his turquoise collection include a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Pagani Zonda Uno, Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and no doubt many more.
This Koenigsegg is also known as ”The Special One”, but it doesn’t seem to be so special for the Prince anymore as it was put up for sale in November 2011. With only 3,000km driven, this confirms that the car has mainly seen many valets at expensive hotels rather than raged around tracks all over the world.
Apart from the unique paintjob, the interior has been personalised. By request of the Prince, the complete leather interior was done in the blue shade, with black underlining.
I spotted the car in Paris in July parked at Le Royal Monceau, one of the many swanky hotels in Paris. As rare as these cars are, only about 3km away was another Koenigsegg keeping a precious valetspot warm.
