Live: Dashboard Confessional in Sydney
Dashboard Confessional played at the Manning Bar in Sydney last Monday night and I was there to take a few photos and record some of the songs.
I have waited 10 years to see Chris Carrabba play a live show and I was excited to see that this was a solo show as well. Just Chris on acoustic guitar without the band that have been backing for the last several records.
The Manning Bar is a nice little venue and it made the whole experience very friendly with a great ambience. There was lots of crowd interaction and Chris really fed of the positive feedback from the audience, joking around during and in between songs.
Supporting Dashboard were the bands Relient K and Jack’s Mannequin and both bands played a very good show. All in town for Soundwave, this sideshow was sold out really fast.
Relient K started the night with a solid show and the crowd loved it. Jack’s Mannequin played well with the fans and Andrew McMahon knew how to please the crowd, delivering an intense show with the fans singing along to every song.
The three songs below are Hands Down, Remember to Breathe and the final song of the night Vindicated, played by Dashboard Confessional, Jack’s Mannequin and Relient K together, a pretty unique moment!
“This song is about the best day of my life” – Chris Carrabba
