Ferrari Racing Days Part 2
Not all the action was on the track as you could see in Part 1. Some of the coolest things were on display as well. The highly anticipated successor to the Ferrari Enzo was one of the main attractions this weekend: the LaFerrari. This was the car’s Australian debut and the Ferrari Racing Days’ visitors were amongst the first on the Southern Hemisphere to view the LaFerrari in the flesh.
The LaFerrari was surrounded by not only hundreds of fans at all times but also by some of Ferrari’s most iconic cars: the 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo.
In the marquee next door some of Ferrari’s relatively more accessible models were on display: the F12berlinetta, 458 Spider, 458 Italia, FF and the new 458 Speciale.
Behind the scenes closed off for most of the public was the 458 Spider which was part of Ferrari’s Tailor Made program: Ferrari 458 “Redback” Spider. This is Ferrari’s third car of the Tailor Made program worldwide. The colour used is Nero Fiammato with Rossa Corsa accents.
Something else very exciting was the Ferrari F1 team at the event. They put on a pit show, the only time you will see the F1 team in Australia outside of the Grand Prix. They showed two pitstops with the F1 car doing several laps, of course finishing the show on the straight with some epic donuts, burning plenty of fresh rubber. Standing two meters next to the car doing donuts in a cloud of smoke was a pretty special goosebumps moment!
Finishing the event was the official Ferrari Racing Days photo, set up on the straight with the F1 Clienti cars, the Ferrari F1 Team and crew with the 458 Asia Pacific Challenge cars right at the back waiting to start their final race.
All in all there was plenty to see during the FRD weekend and most of it was coloured Rossa Corsa!
Hopefully this was the first of many Ferrari Racing Days to come in Sydney. Forza Ferrari.
