Koenigsegg CCXR The Special One
Koenigsegg CCXR The Special One Another highlight of my European trip last July has to be the turquoise Koenigsegg CCXR. This car belongs to a member of the Al-Thani royal family of Qatar. The unusual colour of the car was the choice of Prince Abdul Rehman Naseer Abdulla al-Thani, a huge car enthusiast as his collection of Turquoise cars will tell. Other cars in his turquoise collection include a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Pagani Zonda Uno, Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and no doubt many more. This...

Hard Rock Cafe Sydney Grand Opening Last Wednesday was an important day for rock-loving Sydney, the Grand Opening of the new Hard Rock Cafe Sydney. It was a great start of the new Hard Rock Cafe with live music performances, lots of rock celebrity guests and the traditional Hard Rock Guitar Smash to officially open the venue. Outside in Darling Harbour was a stage set-up and I caught several bands playing there, including Screaming Bikini (with Sarah McLeod), Stan Walker, Tori Darke and more. The MC for the night was Mike Goldman....

Happy Feet Two in Sydney Summer just started but today it was literally snowing in Sydney for the Australian premiere of Happy Feet Two. After the black carpet for Warrior and the yellow carpet for Puss in Boots, it is now time for a white carpet. The sequel to Happy Feet, the Academy Award®-winning animated smash hit, Happy Feet Two returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica in superb 3D. Walking the red carpet today were legendary actor and comedian Robin Williams and Oscar-winning director George Miller. The event...

Puss in Boots premiere in Sydney After a week of rain it was finally time for some sunshine, and it couldn’t have been a better day for the Australian premiere of Puss in Boots at Hoyts Cinema at the Entertainment Quarter (Fox Studios). Puss in Boots is a spinoff from the hugely succesful Shrek films and follows Puss in Boots on his adventure before his first appearance in Shrek 2 in 2004. This is by far the best looking and most entertaining red carpet event I have been to. There was a great atmosphere with musicians playing and...

GQ Men of the Year Awards 2011 It was a rainy day in Sydney today and unfortunately the rain didn’t stop in time for the black carpet of the GQ Men of the Year awards. Tonight was the Fifth Annual Men of the Year awards, held at the iconic Sydney Opera House. Umbrella’s where the hip fashion accessory tonight as non stop rain turned the black carpet in a soggy mess, but everyone still walked it with a smile. Especially Hawaii Five-0 seemed to be loving his umbrella as he’s holding it in most my photos. Not everyone...

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Viva La France! I’ve moved on from London to the next city of my Europe trip this year: Paris, the city of love, the Eiffel Tower, baguettes, fashion and most importantly, expensive cars! Upcoming posts of Paris will include a royal Koenigsegg in a remarkable colour, treasures underneath the busy Parisien streets and the Tour de France, where Australian cyclist Cadel Evans took the title home this year. I’ll kick it off with the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, an unusual sports car of which the...

Best of… Supercars in London 2011 Time to close the London chapter of my 2011 European visit. You’ve seen some of the craziest and most expensive cars in the world that visited London from countries like Qatar, Dubai and UAE. Here’s a final Best Of… compilation including some of the cars that weren’t worthy of their own post but still awesome enough to make it on here. Even some of the more common cars have made it onto the list simply because they stand out, like the two Bentley Continental Flying Spurs...

Kim and Khloe Kardashian in Sydney It has been quite a week for Kim Kardashian. When the news broke that she filed for divorce after just 72 days of marriage to NBA basketballer Kris Humphries the media went crazy. Surprisingly she didn’t cancel her Australian tour and still left for Sydney the day after she filed for divorce. She arrived into Sydney with media and paparazzi from all over the world waiting for her, including TMZ and The Dirt. I briefly went to a Sydney department store event on Thursday where the sisters launched...

Bugatti Veyrons in Europe 2011 The Bugatti Veyron, to some people also known as the fastest street-legal production car…. in the world, is an amazing piece of machinery. With its 16-cylinder four-wheel drive, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 may well be the most sophisticated production vehicle of all times. The Veyron 16.4 (408.47 km/h) was the fastest street-legal production car since April 2005, taking over the reigns from the Koenigsegg CCR (388 km/h). That lasted for two years and a bit until the SSC Ultimate Aero TT...
